“YELLOW RIBBON AMERICA CAMPAIGN
RAISES OVER 450,000 CHRISTMAS GIFTS FOR AMERICA’S LOCAL MILITARY
MEMBERS AND THEIR FAMILIES”
Irvine CA, January 1, 2010: “Operation Christmas for Our Troops
& Their Families” in its 6th year exceeds 450,000 Christmas gifts
for America’s military members and military families. Yellow Ribbon
America and the California State Capital, for the past 6 years have
joined forces to bring Christmas Holiday cheer to America’s military
members and their families.
We are very happy to report that in the 6 years with the help of
thousands of our fellow Californian’s we have collected over 450,000
donated items. Such as food for various Unit Christmas parties,
bikes, toys, DVD’s, games, all types of gift cards as well as
financial donations for military families in need and for many of
Family Readiness programs. This helped and benefitted all braches of
service in California’s National Guard, Reserve and Active Duty
Components. Operation Christmas for our Troops & Their Families is a
non-partisan, statewide effort sponsored by the California State
Capital for our deployed National Guard, Reserve and Active Duty and
at home military members and their families.
Operation Christmas for Our Troops & Their Families is a statewide &
national non-partisan holiday effort to give support to America’s
deployed and at home military members and their families of all
branches of service that began in November 2004 and has grown every
year since. It is not just the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines
and Coast Guard members that are affected when they are deployed and
away from home but also the families who are left behind. According
to the Pentagon this is the largest Christmas Holiday effort for
both our Nation’s Military and their Families.
This year we past our statewide goal in delivering Christmas
community support to California’s, military members and their
families here at home and their loved one’s serving throughout the
globe. Through the generous donations from hundreds of America’s
communities we were able to give gifts to military members, their
families and especially the children of America’s military to help
them through the emotional difficulties of the holidays while there
loved ones are far from home. Operation Christmas for our Troops &
Their Families has given great heartfelt support from their own
local communities that helps bring all Americans together to support
their local military members and their families. Locals helping
Locals - - local businesses, residents, churches and community
groups focusing their resources on helping military members and
their families in their individual communities. That’s what the
Yellow Ribbon America Campaign is all about!

Our Families are
Real Heroes!
In times of war, the entire family of our men and women in our
military are heroes. Many times, the main supporter of the
family is quickly shipped off to a foreign land with no return
date, very little information about their mission, and certainly
not guarantee of their safe return.
We say "Bravo" to these everyday heroes who get the kids to
school each day, work if and when they can, make the meals, do
the laundry, and cry themselves to sleep watching CNN for any
bit of information...
